Maple Live Edge

Maple is one of the most versatile and sought after hardwoods, prized for its clean appearance, exceptional durability, and the incredible variety found from tree to tree. Whether you are drawn to the warm tones of Red Maple, the bright creamy character of Silver, or the distinctive grain of Norway, every slab tells its own story.

What makes it especially exciting is the unique figure nature can create.

Ambrosia Maple features striking gray and brown streaks left by the ambrosia beetle, creating patterns that can never be duplicated.

Spalted Maple develops dramatic black lines and artistic color variations through a natural stage of decomposition.

Curly Maple showcases shimmering ribbon like grain that seems to move as the light changes.

Norway Maple

Norway Maple is a medium hardness maple. Harder than soft maples and softer than hard maples. It was introduced from Europe in the 1700s and became one of the most widely planted trees in North America.

The live edge pieces are very dramatic stemming from thick, rugged bark with dee furrows. Larger urban specimens often have sweeping curves and irregular shapes perfect for dining tables or bars. While trees that grew in open lawns frequently develop broad trunks with interesting crotches and branching patterns.

It is an invasive species not popular for U.S. furniture building because of the high percentage of -Heartwood- the brown.  For a beautiful contrast between heart and sap, Norway Maple makes a very unique piece.

The Norway Maple offers understated elegance. Its creamy tones, silky grains and naturally rugged live edge create a clean, contemporary look that fits everything from farmhouse to modern interiors. It makes an excellent canvas for engraving, in- lays and CNC personalization.

Red Maple

Red Maple is one of the most versatile and beautiful native hardwoods in North America. It produces attractive live edge slabs that combine warmth, subtle figure and excellent workability. It is called "red maple" because its buds, flowers, seeds, twigs and fall leaves all can display shades of red.

The color is a creamy white with a heartwood ranging from light pink and salmon to reddish brown. The Grain is generally straight and fine but can develop beautiful curly, quilted, fiddleback or bird's-eye figure.

One of its most distinctive characteristics is its warm pink undertones, which often become richer after applying oil or hard wax finish.

Silver Ambrosia Maple

Silver Ambrosia Maple is proof that nature is the finest artist. Delicate trails left by ambrosia beetles create stunning charcoal and caramel patterns against creamy maple, making every piece one of a kind.

People often assume the streaks are caused by age or spalting but the ambrosia maple tells a different story. The intricate patterns are actually the record of tiny beetles cultivating a fungus inside the tree- a rare natural collaboration that transforms ordinary maple into one of the most sought after decorative hard woods.
